Lately I’ve been meaning to make more vehicles. Modeling a real car is always a challenge, every part is a puzzle to solve. But when its shape start to look recognizable, it’s very fulfilling.
I used blueprints and photos as reference. I’d say the model is around 90% accurate. The entire car is 38 120 tris and it took me 9 days to model and texture it, working a few hours everyday.
Every material was made from scratch using Substance 3D Painter and Photoshop.
The overall art direction of this project was heavily inspired by GRID Autosport’s marketing material. As for the engine sounds, I took them from a clip I recorded playing Dirt 3.
