The Art Team of Backfirewall was composed of Taychin Dunn (Lead Artist https://www.behance.net/taychindunn) and me. Usually my lead would model the architecture of the levels and I would fill it with props. These are some screenshots of our work.

The first screenshot is from a rather challenging element from Backfirewall's development: the Bit Pit. Bits are these yellow cubes used on multiple puzzles. Earlier in the development, as a place holder, the pit was filled with hundreds of thousands of Bits. I was assigned to optimize it: so I made a "bed" with a simple material faking a huge amount of Bits, and dropped some actual Bits on top of it with physics. The final result had a fraction of the tris but was aesthetically very similar to what it was before.
The second and third screenshot are from rooms inside of a maze section in the same level.
